Since 1994 JJP Group has built more than 10,000 student beds. Today it invests in, builds, owns and manages student accommodation across South Africa, and develops the software that runs it. Founded by Hansie Prinsloo and led by his son Coenraad as CEO, the Group is best known for Varsity Lodges.

Who we are
A family business, built one building at a time.
Hansie Prinsloo, an engineer by training, started JJP with a single student residence near the University of Pretoria. What began as one building has grown into a group of five businesses, each covering one part of the life of a building: invest, build, own, manage, and the software behind it.
Today the second generation runs it. Coenraad Prinsloo is CEO and owns MyStudent, which manages all of the Group’s student accommodation; his sister, Monali Prinsloo, manages AAA Invest.

Purpose-built residences within walking distance of campus: the Group’s core asset base. Hospitality is part of this business, not separate from it.

MyStudent manages all of the Group’s student accommodation on software it built itself: on-site tablets, a live asset register and financial control an investor can audit.

Construction
Pro Africa ConstructionPro Africa Construction builds the Group’s accommodation. A CIDB Grade 6 contractor, the construction team has been building since 1994 and has delivered more than 10,000 student beds for several developers.

Hansie founded JJP Group more than three decades ago, building his first student residence near the University of Pretoria. An engineer by training and a self-made entrepreneur, he grew one building into a group of companies.

Hansie’s son, Coenraad, has taken over from his father as CEO of JJP Group. He owns MyStudent, which manages all of the Group’s student accommodation, and leads its focus on IT development and custom software.
